Ir. Jimmy Priatman, M.Arch., IAI
Mr. Jimmy Priatman was born in Surabaya, Indonesia, in 1953. He received a Bachelor of Architecture degree in 1981 from Petra Christian University, Surabaya, Indonesia.
After practicing architecture for thirteen years, he continued to a graduate program at the Illinois Institute of Technology, Department of Architecture, Chicago, USA, where he studied skyscraper design under the New Bauhaus legacy that was established by Mies van der Rohe, Father of Modern Architecture. In 1996 he received a Master of Architecture degree with his thesis entitled: “Energy Efficient Mixed-Use Skyscraper - THE CITYFRONT TOWER - at Chicago”, that is a design of a mixed-use state of the art bioclimatic and energy efficient skyscraper with Prof.David Sharpe, Prof.Myron Goldsmith, Prof.M.Elnimeiri, Prof.Bihler. He also received a Certificate of Real Estate Development and Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, Boston, 1996.
As the founder of Archimetric, he currently serves as the Director of Design and Planning as well as the principal architect. He is involved in most of the firm's projects and responsible for the firm's commissions. Three of his works, Graha Pangeran, Grha Wonokoyo, and Holy Stadium receive the ASEAN Energy Awards in 2002, 2006, and 2009 respectively, for being the best performing buildings in terms of energy efficiency in Indonesia and ASEAN. Mr. Priatman is also a recipient of the prestigious Kalyanakretya Utama Award in 2002 from the President of the Republic of Indonesia and the Ministry of Research and Technology for his dedication in applied architectural technology.
As a practicing architect, Mr. Priatman is a professional member of the Indonesian Institute of Architects (IAI), an associate member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), and a member of American Society of Heating Refrigerating and Air conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). Mr. Priatman is also a LEED Green Associate. His work is widely published in architectural magazines and publications.
As an academic, Mr. Priatman is Chairman of Center for Building Energy Study and a lecturer at the Faculty of Architecture and Post Graduate Program of Construction Management, both at his alma mater, Petra Christian University, Surabaya, Indonesia. He has written many essays that are published in architectural scientific journals. |
